After the documents have been initially examined, we will confirm the submission date.

The documents received after 16.30 will be processed on the next working days.

Special Tourist Visa (STV) will be in effect until 30 September 2022

The following conditions are for applicants who wish to apply for STV

• STV is valid for a single entry into Thailand for long-term tourism purposes only.
• STV is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. Travellers must enter Thailand within the said 3-month period. They will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days, counting from the date of entry. STV may be extended twice while the visitor is in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days per each extension.
• STV cannot be changed to any other type of visa during the duration of stay in Thailand.
• If the STV holder breaches the entry conditions (for example, if he/she engages in work-related activities), the stay permit will be revoked and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

Required documents:

1. Passport with at least two empty pages and validity not less than 12 months from the date of planned entry to Thailand

2. Two passport-size photographs (2″x 2″)

3. Two completely filled visa application forms

4. Taiwan Identification card OR Taiwan permanent resident certificate

5. Self Health Declaration Form

6. Medical Insurance for the entire period of stay in Thailand with the following coverage:
– Outpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 40,000 THB, and
– Inpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than  400,000 THB

- Medical expenses due to COVID-19 with a sum insured of not less than 100,000 USD

7. Evidence of long-stay accommodation: either

• A fully paid hotel reservation in Thailand for the whole duration of intended stay in Thailand (after quarantine). The reservation must be issued by the hotel showing the duration of stay, and hotel’s contact details and tax ID number;
• A fully-paid residential lease in Thailand for the whole duration of intended stay in Thailand (after quarantine). The lease must be issued by the lessor showing the duration of stay, and the lessor’s contact details and tax ID number;
• A hire-purchase or mortgage agreement of immovable property; OR
• Condominium title deed;

8. Copy of recent bank statement of equivalent to 500,000 THB. The name of the applicant must be indicated clearly. In case of submitting a family bank statement, proof of relationship (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided.

9. A Confirmation of Alternative Quarantine (AQ) or SHA+ hotel
   - Day 1 of SHA Extra+/AQ/OQ/AHQ for those eligible for Test&Go
   - 7 nights of SHA Extra+ for those joining Sandbox Programme
   - 10 nights of AQ for unvaccinated travelers

Visa Fee:

2,300 NT dollars (cash only)

Extension of Stay :   

Those who wish to stay longer or may wish to change their type of visa must file an application for permission at the Office of Immigration Bureau (https://www.immigration.go.th)

The extension of stay is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.

Additional Requirements :

 -  Nationals of certain countries are required  to apply a visa only at the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Thai Embassy. Therefore, travellers are advised to contact the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate-General to find out where they may apply for a visa to Thailand before departure.

 -  Nationals from Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nepal, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Palestine,  Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria,  Vietnam and Yemen who have residence visa in Taiwan can apply for STV at this Office.

The applicant have to come personally and more documents may required.

The process of  visa is 3 working days.

2. Visa fee is non-refundable

3. The issuance of visa is under the discretion of the Office. The Office refuses to explain the reason for visa rejection.

Successful applicants can collect their passport and visa at 16:00-17:00
