Non-immigrant visa O

- Applicant who wants to join a foreigner legally works or having residence in Thailand

- Applicant who wants to accompany the child who is studying at the school in Thailand

Applicant who has Thai husband or father

- Applicant who has Thai wife

- Applicant who has Thai child

 

Notice : 

1. Please note that Consular officers reserve the right to require additional documents, or an interview, as deemed necessary, and the right to reject any application without having to provide reasons.

2. Thailand Trade and Economic Office reserves the right not to accept any visa application whereby any required document is absent.

3. Visa processing time may take up to 15 days. 

 

The documents required for an applicant who wants to join a foreigner legally works or having the residence in Thailand except a child who is more than 20 years old and single) application

Required documents :

1. Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months and contain at least ONE completely empty visa page.

2. One visa application form completely filled out.

3. One copy of 2”x2” size photographs of the applicant, photocopies of photographs will not be accepted. (Photographs must have white background with a full-face view of the person without wearing a hat or dark glasses and must be taken within 6 months.)

4. Original and copy of spouse's work permit or two books of certificate of residence (validity not less than 3 months).

5. Original and copy of certificate of relationship such as Household Registration, Marriage Certificate. 

6. An applicant who brings spouse's work permit have to submit an original letter from spouse's company in Thailand with the company letter head. The said document must be addressed to Thailand Trade and Economic Office proving employment in Thailand. Such document must include list of accompanying family members and period of stay (validity of the letter is one month).

Visa Fee :

2,300 NT dollars per entry (cash only)

 

Validity of a Visa :

The validity of a visa is 3 months.

 

Period of Stay :

Travelers coming to Thailand with this type of visa will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period not exceeding 90 days.

       

Extension of Stay :

Those who wish to stay longer or may wish to change their type of visa must file an application for permission at the Office of Immigration Bureau located on Government Centre B, Chaengwattana Soi 7, Laksi, Bangkok 10210 (www.immigration.go.th). The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.

      

Additional Requirements :

Nationals of certain countries are required  to apply a visa only at the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Thai Embassy. Therefore, travelers are advised to contact the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate-General to find out where they may apply for a visa to Thailand before departure.

Nationals from Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Cameroon, China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Guinea, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Middle Africa, Nepal, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Palestine, Republic of the Congo, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone,  Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen who have residence visa in Taiwan can apply Non-immigrant visa “O” at this Office.

4. An original official letter addressed to Thailand and Economic Office from the school to confirm the acceptance of the student and the student's family visa application (validity of the letter is one month).

5. Copy of the proof of acceptance to the student from the school (validity of the letter is one month).

6. Proof of relationship in English (original and copy).

7. For family member (only applicable to father, mother, spouse, child, adopted child or spouse's child).
